Marching On

My wife wanted me to join her in the March of Dimes walk. I thought I would do it to support. Now I’m getting into it. We are walking in memory of our son Paul Walter Gil Hernandez. He was born seven weeks early and survived three weeks. We’ve had a lot of support from family, church and friends. Now we want to walk to support other families that will go through what we did.

More information about sponsering me here.

Sick Again

It all started from an act of love. I was laying in bed reading a book to my daughter who has a cold. She really wanted me to read to her so I did. We were laying there with our heads touching as I read. She coughed on me so many times I didn’t have a chance. That was last Tuesday. I’ve been sick for the last three days now. Not sure if I’ll make it to work tomorrow.

Fanfest was Fantastic

It was suppose to be just Sarah and I. Then Abby wanted to come. That upset Sarah so she pulled out the “I don’t want to go now” routine. That doesn’t work on me so just Abby and I went. We found free tickets like last year. Met up with Jeremy and Ethan. Wandered around and saw Eric Byrnes. Came within a couple of people to get Abby’s first autograph but he had to go. Saw Terry Steinbach. Got a hot dog. Abby ate the whole thing on her own. Amazing. I was able to get a hat worn during the game. Also a locker name plate from Frank Menechino who plays for Toronto now. The A’s always have a really cool second baseman. 2005 will be Marco Scutaro.

Baseball, Coming to a town near you

Well, we are on the verge of spring training. I wish I could go to a few games in Arizona one of these years. I have visions of hanging out with players at the local watering hole. Maybe even seeing some of them on a golf course and sliding into a round with an A’s player. Maybe next year….

Heading to A’s Fanfest tomorrow. I should be asleep but this is the best time to blog. Hopefully Sarah will get an autograph or two. She already has Scott Hatteburg and Jermaine Dye (no longer with the A’s). It would be great to get Eric Chavez or Eric Byrnes

Eason Jordon is out. Maybe CNN will get someone that wants to report news instead of liberal agendas. Their ratings have been in the toilet for some time now. No surprise. Fox is even getting a little slow with the news. Blogging is the way to get real stuff now. It’s just a matter of time for the talking heads to be phased out.

It would be cool if that kind of blogging went on in my home town. It would be intersting to know why sirens went off or where the fire truck was headed. It could even get down right nasty with neighbors posting lies about you.

Happy Birthday to me!

Well 38 doesn’t feel so bad. My daughters jumped on the bed and woke me up to wish me a happy birthday. Life doesn’t get much better than that. I got some cool stuff but I’m mostly looking forward to golfing 38 holes with some friends this Friday. The weather is awesome and I can’t wait to play hookie from work.

Tomorrow will be an emotional day though. We are going to a gathering for people that have lost children at the hospital Paul was born. I’m sure we won’t be the only one’s crying. He died six months ago yesterday.
